Well, this is me! In judging mode :) I am a Judge with NSWCFA.

My family and I make up the MBH Software Company. As a side to this I also have The Cats Purr, to cater for the feline enthusiast wanting a professional web site. This keeps us all busy with various IT projects always on the go! Breeding Birmans is my  hobby, one I have been passionate about for many years. My cats are my pets first and foremost and their welfare is my primary concern.
How did it all start? Well it all started after my husband-to-be bought me a little Siamese girl as a pet! Then a visit to The Royal Easter Show in Sydney led me to the acquisition of my first pedigree breeding cat, a blue Burmese girl, purchased from Irene Bailey (Eulak Cattery) in 1977. Quickly becoming hooked on the Cat Fancy, I registered the Zarlee prefix in the same year. I bred and exhibited Burmese successfully for approximately 10 years during which I won a number of "Best in Show" awards, including The Royal in 1980! I was particularly fond of what were then the "newer" colours (chocolate, lilac, red, cream and torties).
Birmans were not common in Australia in those days, with only a sprinkling appearing in many of the shows. Their stunning appearance really caught my eye, but acquiring one proved very difficult. I finally managed to buy a lovely seal point girl from the Meryla Cattery in 1982. About this time, I started my own family (two boys), and found  the Burmese, while terrific cats, were just too demanding. (I really felt I was running a preschool for the insane!). Anyone that has bred Burmese will relate to this!
As a result, the Burmese breeding and showing program gradually diminished in favour of the Birmans over the next 4/5 years. My last Burmese male died of old age only a few years ago at age 19.
I have been very fortunate in being able to purchase some truly lovely Birmans over the years and have made many friends along the way, both in Australia and overseas.
I am proud to be a Life member of the Birman Cat Club of Australia, having held the positions of Secretary and President. I am also a fully qualified Group1 (Longhair and Semi-Longhair) and Group 2 (Siamese/Oriental etc) judge registered with NSWCFA, a member of the Co-Ordinating Cat Council of Australia.

leafWhere are we located

We live in the scenic Blue Mountains in NSW. A heritage listed area of renowned beauty with abundant flora and fauna. Parrots of all colours visit us daily and cockatoos can be heard over head. This gives the cats much entertainment! Each evening the possums visit and run around our deck, which is very much like a tree-house! Our cats are not allowed to free roam for the protection of our local wild life (as well as their own) We are about 300 metres above sea level so the winters can be cool (for Australia!) and the air is fresh.

I am a true believer in looking after the welfare of our cats and kittens and try to give them the best I can. My poor suffering husband, Michael, is always kept busy making extensions and renovations to, not only the family home but the cattery as well. I make sure they have access to plenty of sunshine and greenery to make their life with me as comfortable as possible. We have a large exercise area (4 x 6.5mtr) for them from our ground floor door which connects onto our cattery, which also had a large outdoor area for exercise and lazing in the sun. This way everyone has plenty of company. Our retirees are allowed the secure fenced yard to wonder around all day, cat-napping in the garden or on the deck in the sun. This area is only available to my entire cats while supervised.
